We are currently seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Cook 2 to join our esteemed culinary team. This role is perfect for someone looking to grow their skills and gain experience in a luxury hotel kitchen environment.
In this position, you will assist in the preparation and cooking of high-quality dishes under the guidance of our experienced culinary team. You will rotate through various kitchen stations, gaining exposure to different aspects of culinary operations. Responsibilities:
Assist in the preparation of ingredients and the cooking of menu items according to recipes and standards set by the Executive Chef and Sous Chef.
Work at various kitchen stations (e.g., grill, sauté, prep) as assigned, ensuring that all dishes are prepared to the hotel’s high standards.
Ensure consistency in food quality, taste, and presentation, paying close attention to detail in every dish.
Collaborate with Cook 1s, Sous Chefs, and other kitchen staff to ensure a smooth and efficient kitchen operation.
Maintain a clean and organized workstation, adhering to all food safety and sanitation guidelines.
Assist with the organization and maintenance of kitchen inventory, including proper storage and rotation of ingredients.
Take advantage of opportunities to learn new cooking techniques, recipes, and kitchen management skills from senior kitchen staff.
Follow all safety regulations and protocols to maintain a safe working environment.
Qualifications:
1-2 years of experience in a professional kitchen, preferably in a high-end restaurant or luxury hotel setting.
Basic knowledge of cooking techniques and kitchen operations, with a willingness to learn and grow in a fast-paced environment.
Strong focus on food quality, presentation, and cleanliness.
Ability to work collaboratively with kitchen staff, taking direction from Cook 1s, Sous Chefs, and the Executive Chef.
Willingness to rotate through different kitchen stations and take on various tasks as needed.
Ability to work efficiently in a busy kitchen while maintaining high standards.
Culinary degree or certification is preferred but not required if you have relevant experience.
A genuine interest in culinary arts and a desire to build a career in the hospitality industry.
Understanding of basic food safety and sanitation practices.
